  2. Your art and studies of birds are stunning. I'm feeling very 'wowed' by your blog. I'm just learning to draw and paint, in fact I've only reconnected with art again this past 6 months. I will visit again if thats ok?

  4. Jasmine, I hope you will come back again. Learning to draw and paint is both exciting and intimidating - I'm sure!

Iris, you are so dear! Your work is so amazing!

  6. I really love your work - you do so much with the small touches like choosing to close the animals' eyes and the almost movement that the string still has.
The use of the tag and string reminds me not only of vintage taxidermy labels, but also of the most famous painting by John Brewster Jr of a boy holding a bird that he has tied to a string.

(I'm not pushing my blog, but, if you don't know him - he's a really interesting artist:

    Anyway, love your work!

  7. Vivi, thank you for introducing me to John Brewster. I love his naive style. The children have a peculiar look, which I find fascinating.

  8. I'm like you like Brewster - there is something very eerie about his work. I don't know if it's because he was deaf or a folk painter, but he is soo interesting!
