Sweet Buttery Goodness

speculaas
I've been baking all week and wanted to share a few cookies and recipes with you!
I love a good spice cookie. Not too Sweet. Just right.
The most beautiful springerle cookie molds can be found at House on the Hill.

  6. Did you make those Speculaas?! They are gorgeous!! I'm going to get brave here and use my owl mold. The recipe at house on the hill said to use "heartshorn", which is baking ammonia. Used to be able to get that in the spice aisle when I was little, but not any more. I like your recipe better. Thanks for posting it.

What beautiful work! Did you make the speculaas using the Martha Stewart recipe? If so, did you use the same amount of spice as in the recipe? Yours look much lighter. Again, lovely work! Thanks.

  11. Stella: I've used both the house on the hill recipe and a Martha stewart recipe. Both are great! The color varies sometimes!
