Sunday sketchbook: salon walls and silhouettes.
I've always admired the visual impact of salon style hanging of pictures.
More is more an less is a bore, no?
It's how I've always imagined my work would best present itself.
Grouped in the company of other work, a carefully curated collection,
creating a new narrative particular to the owner.
It's how I hang art at home and you might be surprised to know that
I don't have a lot of my own work hanging - one wall of vintage frames
from the old studio that I've been working on and a few other pieces here and there.
I truly enjoy collecting the work of other artists.
These notions seemed to permeate my sketchbook this week,
and became patterns and possibly backgrounds for other paintings to come.
This just made me smile. Love this! (I think the bird page started me smiling!)
