We need only say "hup hup" and Ladybird jumps like a gazelle, so fleet of foot.

We have our own little agility course right here in the field.

The dog days of summer are here!

We have just returned from Camp Wah Wah Taysee.

It was hot, hot, hot, but the lake was very refreshing and

it was great to get away and visit with family.

A Little Bigger

Cowboy is growing every day, but he's still a tiny little creature.

He is the sweetest little guy and is a super fast learner.

 Birdie tolerates quite a bit of his puppy antics including those very sharp milk teeth of his.

She loves him like a true older sister would: playing, taunting, chasing, scrumming over toys, 

more chasing, more scrumming, sleeping, and starting all over again.

One Wet Bird

One nice thing about having a really wet spring is a very high creek. 

We found a perfect spot where the water pools and is deep enough to swim. 

Our dear Birdie has taken to the water like a little fish!

She makes quite a splash as she fearlessly jumps in to fetch sticks.

I'm hoping this little Birdie has distracted you ever so slightly from the fact that my latest painting, 

a new covey of birds, which I posted about last week is not quite finished.

However, I'm happy to report that I'm really almost done. Seriously.

It's just taking a tiny bit longer that expected. Stay tuned.

Baby Steps

It's been a couple of weeks so I  thought 

I'd give you a little update on Birdie.

Besides, who can resist more puppy pictures?

We've spent this Thanksgiving weekend romping in the fields.

Birdie has found a new passion: the soccer ball.

We're working on dribbling, though it may take a while.

In the mean time she's doing well with the essential 

commands and beginning to adjust to her new routine.

Ladybird

Meet our Birdie!

She's had some ups and downs in her short life,

but she's found a new home with us!

Birdie is a mutt; she has some border collie markings

and perhaps a little bit of terrier. It's hard to tell. She's a mystery.

She's very lovable and has a lot of energy and likes to take long naps.

She is in good health, but has a little sore on her neck, 

which is why she is wearing the lamp shade,

also known as the elizabethan collar.

Isn't she adorable?

My Morning

Yup, that's me! Bundling up for a very cold walk with Birdie and Cowboy. 

It's a frosty one. The field is frozen but beautiful nonetheless. Brrrr.

It's quite chilly outside. Maybe twenty degrees.

And now I'm off to the studio to paint!

Puppy Love

These two characters are a bit distracting to say the least.

Can I still call Cowboy a puppy? He's nearly two and still very busy,

but his antics warm my heart. They really do.

Birdie-licious has turned into quite a couch potato at three years old,

though she's the smartest and fastest dog we've ever had.

She loves nothing more than to be warm and cozy and 

wrapped up in a blanket after a run in the field.

She's had her share of ups and downs as a rescued puppy,

but to know her is to love her.

Big Ideas

On the eve of a brand new year, I'm thinking BIG as in great big canvas big. 

A tabula rasa. New ideas, new goals and beginnings in my studio.
