Fine Feathered Friends

Hello, my fine feathered friends, I'm back!

I took a marvelous day trip to Cambridge, Massachusetts while I was away.

I've had the book, The Rarest of the Rare, for a few years and have always wanted to visit

the Harvard Museum of Natural History in person.

As you can imagine the museum was full of fine specimens and I was in heaven,

but their glass flower collection was by far the show stopper!

It was such fun to explore the museum and walk around Cambridge.

We finished our day with a fabulous dinner at Bergamot.

I'll post more pictures over the next few days!

Points North

Forgive me. I have been taking a little blogging break this month.

Sometimes I need to stop and take some time, explore new directions, see where things lead.

I started painting these tiny compasses. They will be in my shop later today.

Seems fitting as we are heading North for a long weekend.

A Closer Look | Flying Grasshopper

I found this little flying grasshopper specimen yesterday.

Even though he has departed, his wings still have a bit of color and the patterns are lovely.

It might be a Carolina Grasshopper. Does anyone know?
