Twosome

dust and shadows
dust and shadows II
Twin tree spirits. Otherworldly creatures. A bit of a tangent.
I received a book in the mail last week. A collection of photographs by Diane Arbus.
Her famous identical twins were on the cover.
I think they seeped into my work.

Facebooking Incognito

leaf bugs
I know it seems like a contradiction. It is. If you know me just a little, it's not.
Ever so slowly worlds are colliding and I'm starting to feel a bit twitchy.
I can hear Catherine Tate in my head saying, "Are you bothered?"
If you don't know the British comedian, dash to Netflix and put her show in your queue.
Anyhow, you can hear the echo over there on my fledgling Facebook page
Hello, helloooo, hellooooooooo. Is there anybody out there?
Do stop by. I promise it can only get better.
Happy Friday!

Historic Coaching Drive

historic coaching drive
historic coaching drive no. 5
historic coaching drive no. 8
historic coaching drive no. 10
A parade of over twenty historic coaches drove through Upperville all weekend
to celebrate the opening of the new museum at the National Sporting Library.
It was quite remarkable. More pictures on flickr!

The Art of Display

Salon Style
Create a collection. Group pieces together and tell a story.
Make it your own.
Size Matters
A generously proportioned matt and frame will easily transform
a small work into a larger piece.

Big Impact
Hang art in a grid and create a bold, uniform look.

Understated
Tuck smaller pieces into a bookcase or lean them on shelf.
Art need not hang on a wall.

Mix It Up
Mix a variety of styles, textures, pattern and color.
Create an eclectic look.

Love Is Blind
You only need to love it. Art need not match your sofa.
Let your collection set your style apart.

Studio | Sneak Peek

Studio | my new migration painting
Here's a little sneak peek at my new, super large, 18 x 24 inch migration in blue!
I hope to finish it early next week.

P.S. I've taken the plunge and joined Pinterest
The invitation has been sitting in my in box since February.
I don't know how I resisted for this long. Now I fear I'm completely addicted!
Have a great weekend all!

Fungi

fungi
There's a fungus among us! A new painting in my shop today.
Found some lovely mushrooms by the side of the road and I was inspired.
I always seem to find ways to procrastinate when I'm working on a big painting.
I'm working on a super large 18 x 24 inch bird migration painting.
Perhaps a sneak peek tomorrow. I don't want to jinx it.
