This is one of my favorites, it is in Punjabi and is quite old!
A man says that he is going to faraway lands and the woman sings asking him not to go.

It is a bit gloomy maybe, but I like it so much: Surprise ice by the Kings of Convenience (a Norwegian band).

I tend to like those tragic 50s love songs, like "Last Kiss"

Lovely work--I see earthworms!

Just discovered the band Mumford & Sons and am (to put it mildly) obsessed. "The Banjolin Song" is a great love song and I'm digging "Winter Winds" too (maybe not so much a love song as a song about mortality, but, you know, po-tay-to/po-tah-to and all that).

wow, that is actually a really tough question since there are so many good songs about different types of love...
I do really love Emiliana Tourini's "Big Jumps" and also "Alison" by Elvis Costello

Felicity said...

I'm sure that people will dispute that it's a love song but my heart is always opened when I hear Edith Piaf singing "Je ne regrette rien".

The song that immediately came to mind for me was "Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel. I can't think of a more fundamental expression of love than being loved for who you are.

What I love about your art is that you are expressing to the world just who you are.
