Click Click Click

I love summer evenings. The hum of cicadas. The clicking noise of moths at my window.
Fireflies lighting up over the fields. The smell of hay bales.
It's delightful.

I've had moths on the mind lately too.

Gorgeous! I love the smell of hay, too. Brings back my childhood on my grandparent's farm. I have June bugs banging against my windows. :/ Not as nice as moths. Wish I could open the windows for the good smells at night, but it's NINE MILLION DEGREES!

So beautifully coloured! Moths are just as pretty as butterflies, wish people realised that! :)

These are gorgeous! Like damsels in diaphanous dresses. Would love to see fireflies sometime. Cheers!

They are beautiful! I have never really seen fireflies, and I have never smelled hay. You have made me very curious. Wish I could,
it all sounds lovely:)

Thanks all! I'm working on a few more giant insects. Inspired by real ones, but mostly imaginary.

Annamaria: Really? You have never seen fireflies? Maybe it is too cold that far north. They come out at dusk and start to twinkle. We used to capture them as kids and put them in a jar so we could watch them glow.

so pretty. I love all your paintings and appreciate your tutorials. I've bought brushes and everything. Haven't started yet though, b/c we're moving soon.

Jo: I wish you had fireflies too.

Elisa: I'm sure your new place will inspire you to start painting.
