may i ask... what is the difference between gouache and watercolors? Why would you choose to use one over the other? I have always been confused by this.
Hi Tammie: Gouache is an opaque watercolor. Due to its very high pigment load, gouache appears flatter and the paint coverage is opaque. Gouache does not have quite the same transparency as watercolor. I mostly work with watercolor, but I've really been enjoying working with gouache too. The choice to work with one or the other would probably depend on the project.
