Oh oh oh... no wonder you are smitten! He is absolutely devine, and the photos are wonderful - looks as though he would like a little tummie tickle in the first one! I can't wait to get a good camera - my brother used to take amazing macro pics of insects - but they're all on 35mm slide - I should encourage him to digitise them. I checked out your flickr feed, and the cicada shells immediately caught my eye. I get excited every season when the cicadas emerge. I head out searching for them like I did as a kid (I have developed a very good eye for them!!), and pop them on my top - like my own little pet (kinda odd), or even a brooch (kinda odder)! Such great stuff!!
Helen: thank you ever so much! I would love to see your brother's pictures. Glad to know someone else likes cicadas!
How do you find such cool and interesting things?!
Absolute charmer, indeed! That second picture is so expressive. Such a character. Beautiful.
Mrs. Katie: simply looking at the world a little closer reveals some interesting things!Marie-Louise: He is a character!
Looks like he came from Pixar's Bugs Life! Nature must really have inspired the animators! Wonderful face he has :o)
what a fantastic view of a grasshopper - WOW!!!gosh, I know how you feel - a real charmer....
cindy, jone, thank you so much! There is so much amazing detail that gets lost.
He's amazing and very beautiful, but I'm a bit scared of grasshoppers. When I was young my older brothers would tell me that biting crickets would sit under the toilet seat and wait for me. eeek!
Rowena, that's too funny. I'm sure at the time it was frightful!
