Monographs and Paperweights

I love collecting books. Especially monographs.
They are always out because not only do I love to look,
I use them as paperweights.

I like to imagine that my studio assistants at atelier Golly Bard
are none other than Edgar Degas, David Hockney, Egon Scheile,
Francesco Clemente, Louise Borgeouis, Alice Neel, Edward Gorey,
Rebecca Horn - Oh, the list goes on and on.
Can you imagine all of that creativity in one place?

Oh MY....those books!!! I spent decades as a cataloger in the library at the art school I attended and was able to hold and cherish thousands of such books as you have there. I secretly felt like they were my very own and when I left that library in Florida five years ago I left all my friends. I knew I had spent time and held every one of the books in that library in my hands. You have some beauties there and good for you! Hope you and your studio assistants have a fine time of it...cheers!

It is strange but I did the same with my heavy art books. I use also them as paperweights for my watercolors.
Then Monet, Boudin, Corot, Fragonard and so on..are my efficient assistants.
