Float Away

Strange looking pods on the side of the road.

The seeds are perfectly arranged inside each capsule.

Each seed has its own little silk parachute.

Ready to catch the wind and float away.
Do you see the little bug? He's hiding.

milkweed pods are so pretty! There are some along the road here, split open with those tufted little seeds.

Hope you are having a nice weekend!

Lovely. I so enjoy seed pods. I was inspired by some Iris pods last year to weld some designs in steel. They are hanging in my studio and when you gently shake the ones that didn't open the seeds rattle inside! ...now everything is blanketed in snow!

Thank you for stopping by ladies! Cindy, I love Iris! It's just about the only thing that grows willingly in our clay soil. Snow! I'm not ready!

They are really beautiful pods, so protective and safe. If I was a seed, I wouldn't want to leave home...
