Puppy Love

puppy love
These two characters are a bit distracting to say the least.
Can I still call Cowboy a puppy? He's nearly two and still very busy,
but his antics warm my heart. They really do.
Couch potato #adogslife
Birdie-licious has turned into quite a couch potato at three years old,
though she's the smartest and fastest dog we've ever had.
She loves nothing more than to be warm and cozy and
wrapped up in a blanket after a run in the field.
She's had her share of ups and downs as a rescued puppy,
but to know her is to love her.

A Closer Look | Winter Nests

winter garden
Tiny nest
Underneath
seed love
One thing I love about winter is that spotting bird nests is a little easier
without the tree foliage to shield these treasures from view.
These are two beautiful old nests found today.
The large one was in my magnolia tree, practically right in front of me all year,
though I just noticed it and I have no idea what kind of bird nested there.
The tiny one, a goldfinch nest perhaps, was in the hedgerows on my afternoon walk.
Constructed of grasses and leaves, it measures about three or four inches,
and was full of tiny seeds!
So precious.

Big Ideas

tabula rasa

Quality control. Tasted and approved by Birdie and Cowboy!
On the eve of a brand new year, I'm thinking BIG as in great big canvas big.
A tabula rasa. New ideas, new goals and beginnings in my studio.
Thank you all for your kindness and support this year and for making my life so joyful!
I wish you all a very happy new year!
