Everyone Needs An Albino Squirrel

This is my eccentric gift guide for Halloween.
I must admit I would probably choose these items any time of year,
but you probably know that about me.
Doesn't everyone need an albino squirrel?
Take a peek at these curiosities in my treasury on Etsy!

Cubbing

The fox hunting season has begun in our area.

Last Saturday their meet took place behind the church in town.

The hounds were pretty excited as they awaited
the huntsman to sound his horn!

Tally ho!

Covey No. 2

I'm finally finished with this painting!
My eyes are killing me and I think I might need glasses,
but it was worth it. Click on the image to see it larger.

Picky Picker

I consider myself a seasoned picker and a bit of a snob.

While the throng of tourists raced up the hill to the sea of orange,
destined to be a foregone conclusion with their ordinary, plain pumpkins.

I ran down to the wild and crazy gourd patch on the other side of the hill,
where I practically had the place to myself.
The colors, shapes, and patterns are amazing.

This year I was a tad bit greedy, filling two wagons full.

Can you blame me?

Up the Road

Another amazing weekend excursion.
Pumpkin picking at Hollin Farms.

I usually spend all of my time in the gourd patch,
collecting the ones with fabulous shapes and patterns.
I'll show them to you soon!

Oddities

A couple of most peculiar birds. Misfits of nature.

It's that time of year. Weirdness abounds.

Tomorrow we will go pumpkin picking and

I promise to take some pretty pastoral pictures.

Beau

A beau for my folk lady.
He'll be in my shop soon.

A toasty warm log for the autumn season.
I'm loving this palette.

Trifecta

After days of rain and dreary weather we had sun!

Saturday was a glorious autumn day for the Virginia Fall Races.
The skies were blue and full of billowing white clouds.

We picnicked with friends and family and watched the races.
Afterward we went to the annual pig roast at the
Upperville firehouse which was a hoot.

We spent the evening at a concert with Ramblin' Jack Elliott
He sang great folk tunes and reminisced about the good old days
with Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie.

Autumn Folk

Bur Oak

Silhouette No. 4

Feathery Plumes No. 33

A little infusion of color.
I'm admittedly swayed by the season.
I've been experimenting with these little silhouettes of late,
Shadowy figures are so intriguing.
