Mockingbird Memories

My sixth grade class reading included:
The Good Earth, Cry the Beloved Country, and To Kill a Mockingbird.
Perhaps a little ambitious for such a young group and honestly most went over my head,
but I couldn't put To Kill a Mockingbird down.
I read straight through, stayed up late, soaked in all the details.
I was transported into the world of Jem, Scout, Atticus, Tom, Boo and Dill,
and I fell in love with reading. Thank you, Harper Lee.
Rest in Peace.

Can't Hide the Crazy

Piles of tiny paintings.
A face in the shadows.
A beautiful mind? A beautiful mess?
You can't hide the crazy. Experimenting is part of the creative process.
p.s. It's more fun that way!

Drawing With Thread

I found this piece of hand embroidery that I started last year.
It takes time, but I really enjoy drawing with thread.
It gives my imagery a whole new dimension.
I'm determined to finish.

Love is in the Air

Love is in the air.
Satin bowerbirds have a penchant for collecting blue objects which
they display in hopes of wooing their lady loves.
I've always been fascinated by the architecture of their bowers and
the courting rituals of these exotic birds.
