Fungus Among Us

Even though we've had some really warm days this week, nature isn't moving as fast as my brush.
Nevertheless, the bare, lichened trees have inspired some new paintings.
I love the patterns of the fungus florets.

The more lichen, the better the air quality...or so a scientist once told us when beholding our trees in the French countryside. Great subject for a painting.

I think we must have good air here, because the lichen seems to flourish. Thank you all for stopping by! Have a great weekend.

crunch crunch, I can hear your boots as they walk through these woods. Much lichen here too at the coast, in fact we have to scrape it regularly from our house!

Julie, I'm going to have to do the same. Seems my cedar deck has encourage a lot of growth.
